Dr. Cherye Callegan - MD
Medical Director, Psychiatrist
Dr. Cherye Callegan has been working in the field of addiction for more than 30 years. She served as the Medical Director of Sundown Ranch from 2001 until 2018. Prior to joining Sundown Ranch, she served as the Medical Director of Substance Abuse Services at both Green Oaks Hospital and Timberlawn Psychiatric Hospital. She is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both Psychiatry and Addiction. Dr. Callegan is a diplomate of the American Board of Addiction Medicine. In 2006 and again in 2009, Dr. Callegan was named America's Top Psychiatrist by the Consumer Research Community of America. She enjoys working with adolescents and adults with addiction issues and trauma.

Jeanette Franks - BA, LCDC
Director of Utilization Review
Jeanette is a licensed chemical dependency counselor and currently serves at the Director of Utilization Management. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (Social Work, Criminal Justice and Psychology) from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2005. She has a background in counseling with women’s outpatient services and with detoxification programs. Her work in addiction services has instilled hope and resiliency into her own life and has inspired her to provide support to those struggling with addiction. Jeanette possesses a stellar ranking in positive outcomes with managed care companies. In her free time, Jeanette enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, reading, and spending time outdoors.

Director of Outpatient Programs
Vincent received his Bachelor degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Texas Tech University and his Masters in community counseling from Texas Tech University. He is the associate director of operations at the Institute for the Study of Addiction, Recovery, and Families at Texas Tech University where he works directly with students in recovery helping them to transition and be successful in their educational endeavors as a person in recovery.

Sterling Shumway - Ph.D., LMFT
Family Program Consultant (Pioneer)
Dr. Shumway designed and has led the family program at the Ranch at Dove Tree for over ten years now. Besides his work at the Ranch at Dove Tree Dr. Shumway is Chair of Community, Family, and Addiction Sciences Human Sciences department as well as the Director of Institute for the Study of Addiction, Recovery, & Families at Texas Tech University.
Dr, Shumway holds both a Doctor of Philosophy, Marriage & Family Therapy and a Masters in Human Development and Family Studies both from Texas Tech University. He additionally holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Brigham Young University.
Dr. Shumway has published many studies and articles on the subject of addiction and recovery including the book Six essentials to achieve lasting recovery.
