The Ranch at Dove Tree Launches Veteran and First Responder Treatment Programming

Veteran and First Responder Treatment

Lubbock, Texas – April 8, 2021– The Ranch at Dove Tree (“RDT”), a leading national provider of behavioral health and addiction treatment services, has achieved certification as Veteran-Ready by PsychArmor, a non-profit that educates the civilian community on military culture, and is now offering its exclusive Tactical Recovery substance use disorder program for Veterans and First Responders.

“We are excited to announce that we are now a Community Care Network provider with the VA. As a legacy provider for addiction treatment in West Texas, RDT has the clinical programming and team to help our veterans recover from the pain, struggle, and damage that comes from substance use disorders. We are passionate about recovery, and we are proud to now be offering specialized services, tailored to our Nation’s heroes, Veterans, and First Responders in our own way of showing appreciation to their sacrifices for our country,” said Phil Sheridan, CEO at The Ranch at Dove Tree.

“While defending our freedom, Veterans experience higher rates of addiction and psychological challenges than average Americans,” said Katie Ross, MSW, Summit’s Director of Veteran Services. “The COVID-19 pandemic has only heightened these issues, which is why our mission is to increase access and create a treatment environment that recognizes the unique experiences and culture of the military community.”

The Ranch at Dove Tree is aware that few addiction and mental health centers are genuinely qualified in understanding and treating veterans and saw the need to employ the Tactical Recovery Program to meet this need. Far too often, Veterans do not receive the level of treatment they deserve from people who understand the full impact of military service.

The Ranch at Dove Tree has used its PsychArmor training and an internal expert team made of Veterans and military spouses to create a comprehensive residential Veteran and First Responder support program under the Tactical Recovery banner. The track is designed specifically to ensure that treatment is provided in a culturally competent and trauma-informed environment, tailoring care for each individual using evidence-based practices proven to promote recovery among this unique community.

Trauma and the stressors of military service can be contributing factors to using drugs or alcohol to self-medicate or cope with these issues. RDT provides treatment services with medical doctors, psychiatrists, therapists, and other clinical staff who specialize in addiction medicine and mental health.

RDT has been approved to accept VA Health benefits through the Community Care Network (CCN), allowing veterans and the VA to utilize community partners outside the VA network.
