Residential Alcohol Addiction Treatment

Alcohol Addiction Treatment at RDT

Are you worried that you, or someone you love, may have a problem with alcohol?

If some of the situations below are occurring, it could be a sign of alcohol addiction:

  • Has become unaccountable for his or her employment or parental responsibilities because of drinking
  • Hurts himself/herself or others emotionally, physically, or mentally while drinking
  • Has become careless about the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol
  • Has been arrested for alcohol-related offenses

We understand how complex substance use can be, so we customize our treatment to the individual needs of each client who comes to us for help. The Ranch at Dove Tree is a safe, nurturing place staffed by compassionate experts helping you achieve recovery and freedom from addiction. Our 12-step foundational model also includes experiential and wellness components. Feeling better allows you to focus more fully on your recovery and is a natural way to increase energy and a sense of hope.

At our beautiful and peaceful campus in Lubbock, Texas, we offer a complete continuum of care to meet your unique needs:

  • Detox
  • Adult residential treatment
  • Long term residential treatment
  • Partial care program
  • Intensive outpatient program
  • Outpatient program and counseling services

The Ranch at Dove Tree also specializes in addressing co-occurring mental health disorders alongside addiction. Dual diagnosis treatment involves integrated therapy to address both substance abuse and underlying mental health issues.

Once treatment is complete, alumni are invited to join our relapse prevention program, known as Trac9. This web-based standardized assessment app measures progress and relapse triggers.

Detox

This is the first stage of treatment, where the body rids itself of alcohol. It can be a challenging process, but medical professionals will be there 24/7 to monitor and manage withdrawal symptoms and to ensure safety and comfort.

Our detox program prepares clients physically and emotionally for the challenging work of therapy. When a person suddenly stops using alcohol, they may begin to experience a variety of uncomfortable physical and emotional withdrawal symptoms. Detoxification is not a standalone treatment for addiction; it is the initial step in the recovery process.

Residential Treatment

Our 30-day inpatient alcohol treatment program is an intensive form of addiction treatment that provides a safe and structured environment for people to begin their recovery journey. While not as comprehensive as long-term programs, it can be a good starting point, especially for those who need a complete break from their environment and triggers.

Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect in a typical 30-day inpatient alcohol treatment program:

  • Medical Evaluation: A thorough medical evaluation will be conducted to assess your overall health and any underlying medical conditions that may be contributing to your addiction.
  • Individual Therapy: You will meet with a therapist to discuss your addiction, your triggers, and to develop coping mechanisms to deal with stress and cravings.
  • Group Therapy: Group therapy provides a safe space to connect with others who are going through similar experiences. Sharing your struggles and hearing from others can be a powerful source of support and encouragement.
  • Educational Sessions: You will learn about addiction, its effects on the brain and body, relapse prevention strategies, and the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
  • Introduction to Relapse Prevention Planning: While a 30-day program may not allow for in-depth relapse prevention planning, you will begin to identify your triggers and develop basic strategies for avoiding them.
  • Introduction to 12-Step Programs or Support Groups: Many programs introduce participants to 12-step programs (such as Alcoholics Anonymous) or other support groups as a way to continue receiving support after discharge.

Long-term Residential Treatment

During long-term rehab, which typically lasts 60 days, our clients have the time and guidance to understand their alcohol use and begin to recognize the connection between thoughts and behaviors. This program begins with identifying personal strategies and skills to live a fulfilling life without using alcohol when faced with stress or difficulties. After the residential level of care, transitioning into a lower level of care provides continued professional support as you put these skills to work in a normalized environment.

The Ranch at Dove Tree’s 60-Day Track encompasses:

  • individual therapy at least twice per week
  • At least six hours of group programming per day
  • 12-Step/Recovery Resiliency focus
  • Activity & Experiential-based learning
    • Creative Expression Groups
    • Equine Assisted Psychotherapy
    • Service Work outings
  • In-depth Family Week Programming
  • Continuing daily wellness routine

Each week of our 60-day residential recovery track features a core theme crucial to resilient recovery. The Ranch at Dove Tree outlines specific activities and goals that are central to each theme.

Partial Care Program

Partial care programs, also known as Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) or Day Treatment Programs, offer short-term intensive addiction treatment that is a step above traditional outpatient care but less restrictive than an inpatient residential treatment plan. Partial care programs can either be used as a transition between residential treatment and outpatient care or as a more structured alternative to outpatient programs. Participants in a partial care program for substance use disorders return home in the evenings.

The Partial Care Treatment Program is a 20-hour-per-week substance use disorder treatment program. Clients attend during the day from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with an evening group on Wednesdays at 6 p.m.

In many cases, family members are encouraged to participate in therapy and education to better understand their loved one’s condition and provide support.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Our IOP is designed to meet the needs of individuals who require more support and structure than standard outpatient therapy, but who do not need 24-hour care. Depending on a person’s alcohol use history and family support status, IOP may be an initial level of care. IOP is also for individuals who have completed residential treatment.

IOP offers flexibility for individuals who need treatment but wish to maintain their daily responsibilities such as work or school. Clients attend therapy sessions during the day or evening while living at home or in a sober living environment.

Customized alcohol rehabilitation at Ranch at Dove Tree also includes extensive family support and aftercare services. Recovery from addiction is a complex process, and success often depends on ongoing support and aftercare. Some individuals may continue their treatment in outpatient programs or transitional housing after completing a 30-day program. Others may choose longer-term residential rehab or intensive outpatient programs. It’s essential for individuals seeking treatment to work with addiction specialists who can assess their unique situation and recommend the most appropriate level and duration of care.
