Frank Chen, M.D., is a practicing psychiatrist in Houston, Texas, who specializes in Adult Psychiatry. Dr. Chen’s expertise is focused on treating serious mental illnesses such as Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, and Schizophrenia. He has spent his career managing some of the most severe psychiatric manifestations in hospitalized settings and has the vision to navigate the critical period after a hospitalization. He is extremely active in psychopharmacologic management when symptoms are severe and intolerable. Dr. Chen is passionate about assisting young adults who are trying to navigate changes in their mental health. He provides guidance, not just to patients but also their critical support network, in understanding diagnostic considerations and treatment options. Because of his ability to explain disease states and psychopharmacologic management. Dr. Chen has served on Advisory Boards and Speakers Bureau for multiple pharmaceutical companies because of his expertise in serious mental illness and psychopharmacology. On the personal side, Dr. Chen had a brother who was diagnosed with schizophrenia at the time he started his Psychiatric Residency in 1998. He had the unfortunate opportunity to observe the progression of schizophrenia from the perspective of a clinician and an involved family member for more than 20 years. He has a deep understanding of the complexity of issues involving patients and caring family in the pursuit of wellness.

David Gainer

David Gainer started with The Ranch at Dove Tree in 2018 and has been working in healthcare for more than a decade. He says he has an “I can fix it attitude,” to life which he employs in his work. “I strive to give our clients the best recovery setting experience possible,” he says. “And I firmly believe in The Ranch at Dove Tree’s mission statement to “improve the lives we touch.” He says he is grateful to work alongside a wonderful and skilled group of people who are all here for the right reason and is so proud of the work that is done at RDT every day.

Andrea Grinnell

Director of Admissions
Andrea Grinnell, Director of Admissions, has worked in healthcare for more than 17 years. And, like many in the healthcare profession, one of the things she enjoys most is helping others. She started as an Admissions coordinator at The Ranch at Dove Tree in June 2023 and was quickly promoted to the Director position because of her passion for helping those in need. “Working in substance use disorder treatment is by far the most rewarding position I have ever held in healthcare,” she says.

Chelsea Collier, RN

Director of Nursing
Chelsea Collier, RN, serves as the Director of Nursing at the Ranch at Dove Tree. Chelsea has been a nurse for nine years, serving in various roles, but found that helping those with substance use disorders is where she belongs. “I found that I have a true passion for helping those who struggle with addiction,” she says. “And I am excited to help make a difference in these individual’s lives, as well as positively impacting our community here in Lubbock, TX.”

Chelsea Nichols

Intensive Outpatient Program Director
Chelsea’s personal experience with both addiction and the journey of recovery has led her to The Ranch at Dove Tree, where she now serves as the Intensive Outpatient Program Director. With over eight years in recovery, she has spent the last seven years working in various roles within the recovery field. Chelsea attended ACC, where she earned her human services degree and LCDC license. She is deeply passionate and dedicated to helping those struggling with addiction. Her goal is to demonstrate and share what true freedom from addiction can look like, showing that it is possible to break stigmas and cycles while finding genuine happiness.

Kamdon Robinson

Kamdon Robinson
Director of Business Development
Kamdon comes to The Ranch at Dove Tree with more than 10 years healthcare experience. His varied career began as a staffing coordinator and recruiter in the Dallas-Fort Worth area where he worked for a start-up pediatric home healthcare company. After a short he was promoted to run day-to-day operations of branch sites. In 2017 he moved back home to Lubbock continuing to work in multiple healthcare genres over the next 3 years before getting back into pediatric home health in 2020 as a business development executive and then Operations Director for branches throughout West Texas. His passion to help people live better lives is unmatched and his driving force is to be the best advocate for those in need which aligns with The Ranch at Dove Tree philosophy to “Improve the Lives we Touch.”

Katrina Toney MS, LCDC, LPC-A

Director of Clinical Services
Katrina’s own personal journey and life experiences led her to RDT as Director of Clinical Services. She has a passion for working with the adult population with the intention of helping those who want to find a new way of living through the recovery process. She earned her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling in 2021 before becoming Director of Clinical Services at RDT. “It is truly an honor to get to work with those who come to the program of treatment and reconnect with family and find purpose in their lives,” she says. “I am grateful for the work the clinical team has provided to those in need with the disease we fight daily. It is an opportunity to see light where darkness once stood, improving the lives we touch.”

Sonja Kirkland

Sonja Kirkland
Director of Utilization Review
Sonja Kirkland is joining The Ranch at Dove Tree team from the Summit BHC Corporate IT team. She has been in and out of the IT world for about 5 years, between Community Corrections and Healthcare. She most recently worked as a Senior Health & Business Applications Specialist, assisting staff across the Summit facilities with various applications. Sonja has a B.A. in Psychology and a M.S. in Juvenile Forensic Psychology. When she’s not working she enjoys volunteering with her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and traveling abroad.

Dianna Kartchner

Dianna Kartchner is a dedicated professional with a multidisciplinary background in human development, nursing, and healthcare quality. With a Bachelor of Science in Human Development, a Master’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies, and a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Dianna combines a comprehensive understanding of human growth—mentally, physically, and spiritually—with extensive experience in healthcare operations and regulatory compliance. Over the past 15 years, Dianna has worked across diverse healthcare environments, including long-term care, acute hospitals, and rehabilitation facilities. Her expertise includes leading teams in Quality Assurance and Reviews, Patient Safety, Data Analysis, Patient Experience, Compliance, Infection Control, and Project Management. Dianna has also contributed to Service Coordination and conducted health facility surveys, complaint investigations, and focused infection control surveys nationwide for private organizations. As a former nurse healthcare surveyor and program manager for the State of Texas, Dianna has a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape in healthcare. She is passionate about helping others recognize the importance of quality care and how compliance and quality assurance processes drive improvements in care delivery. By empowering teams and individuals to achieve their goals, Dianna remains committed to fostering growth and excellence in the healthcare industry.
